Storage is the most common regret in Dubai ensuites. Recessed niches in the shower, a tall cabinet for towels and drawers rather than doors under the basin make a bigger daily difference than a statement tile.
Many ensuite renovations replace a shower tray and enclosure with a level-access shower behind a single glass panel. It looks larger and is easier to clean, but the floor has to be rebuilt to fall towards a linear drain, and the waterproofing must extend across the whole wet zone rather than just inside a tray. In apartments, how much the floor can be lowered or built up is limited by the slab and the building's rules.
Underfloor heating is rarely needed in Dubai, but good extraction is essential: an ensuite that steams up after every shower will grow mould behind the silicone within a couple of summers. Lighting on a separate circuit at the mirror, a dimmable ceiling scene and a shaver socket placed where it is actually used are small items that are cheap at first fix and expensive afterwards.
